Minor Variance

The Township of Seguin’s Zoning By-law (2006-125) sets the rules for how land and buildings can be used, and where they can be located. It also outlines standards such as lot sizes, building heights, parking requirements, and other details that help ensure safe and well-planned development throughout the Township.

Sometimes, unique site conditions or existing buildings make it difficult to meet every zoning requirement. In these cases, property owners can apply for a minor variance. A minor variance allows for a small adjustment to a specific zoning rule when strict compliance isn’t practical, while still maintaining the general intent of the by-law.

Please note that Pre-consultation is highly recommended to help streamline the application process.
