Shore and Concession Road Allowances
Within Seguin Township, all original road allowances that have not been closed, stopped up, or sold remain the property of the Township. Under provincial legislation, municipalities are permitted to sell these unopened road allowances.
Council will consider applications to close and convey unopened shore road allowances and concession road allowances. This process involves several steps and associated expenses, including surveying, legal work, and administrative fees.
Application Costs
All costs related to a road allowance closure application are the responsibility of the applicant. Fees and deposits are retained by the Township until the application process is complete, as they cover the review, administration, and required professional services—regardless of whether the application is approved or withdrawn.
